I'll confess: I tend to be a "fixer." And when you talk about your life, I'm busy trying to figure out ways to fix it. Which I usually can't because life can be messy and hard that way.
So, instead, I've decided to look you in the eyes, stop analyzing and thinking, and just listen. I'm not going to offer the perfect advice (as if.) Today, I'm going to be a better LISTENER. I want to start listening with more than my ears... but also, my heart.
Because what you're saying matters. And, when you're done sharing your heart... I may just offer you a hug and a smile. But you'll know I cared, not because I had the answer, but because I put you first. And truly, truly listened.
And, maybe, that's just the perfect answer after all.

Life can often overwhelm us with negatives and put-downs. Please remember that:
*God chose to make us in His image...."and it was good." Genesis 1:27
*God loves each of us...."I've loved you with an everlasting love." Jeremiah 31:3
*God has a plan and purpose for our lives...Psalm 139:16
*God has given each of us special gifts and talents...Ephesians 4:7
Our self talk can be so damaging. For many reasons it is difficult for us to value ourselves. Today we challenge you to begin to see yourself as God does. Instead of dwelling on those things which have been done incorrectly, or those things which haven't been done;
fill your minds with beauty and truth...
Treasure those things which are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely,whatever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8
And one more thought...when you hear someone saying things about themselves that are not edifying....tell them how special they are..encourage them in some way.
you will make their day.
Stay tuned for thoughts from our heart...
