Then I thought again....WHY NOT! So I grabbed the computer and did some research on "Crying Out To God" in the Scriptures. And WOW - can we just agree here....... PLETHORA !!!
To keep this a blog and not a thesis paper on the subject at hand I have used information from jollynotes.com
and of course the Bible itself.
I absolutely loved this definition written in the JollyNotes article.
"Crying out to God is an act of desperation and total concentration. It is a fervent expression of faith in God and trust in His goodness and power to act on your behalf. "
According to the jolly Notes article ......Crying out to God expresses the following traits:
1. Genuine Humility - Psalm 9:12; see also Psalm 10:17
2. Unconditional Surrender - Psalm 66:18
3. A plea for mercy - Lamentations 3:22–23
4. Personal helplessness - John 15:5
5. Faith in God's Power - Matt 8:25
6. Desperation - Psalm18:6
There are so many Scriptures to ponder.....may you be encouraged to meditate on those above and do a little "sifting and searching" on your own.
Romans 8:26 expresses this topic beautifully
"God hears our hearts cry.
He does our praying for us ,
making prayers out of our wordless sighs and aching groans."
