John Ortberg paraphrased by Vicky Wong: "Nobody saw Sunday coming. But you don't know it is a three day story on Friday. Saturday is the day of God's silence. It's the in-between day. The day after a prayer gets asked but before it gets answered. Saturday is the day when your dreams die and you wake up and you have to get up and go on and you don't know why."
Back to Dell: "The disciples had painted their own picture of who Messiah was supposed to be--a narrative they wanted Him to fulfill." What picture have we personally painted? What do we want him to fulfill?
Have you ever thought about the Saturday sandwiched in-between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday? We have the rest of the story up front. The disciples did not. We don't tend to handle life well with the whole story! We lose hope and often forget the promises of God just like the disciples.
We know the end of the complete story and just have to live it out…….that is not easy, but why give up? It is not the end it is only Saturday. Sunday is coming!
He is alive and will come back and give us a new home with no pain and suffering. That was what He wanted in the first place.
My prayers is that people find Jesus this Easter and dig into the rest of the story!
